Abstract

|
To clarify the effects of Panax Ginseng on the hematopoletic function, this experiment was carried out under the various conditions of the experimental animals, such as normal and hyper transfused mice, and bilateral nephrectomized rats. In this regard, the authors observed the percent 59Fe incorporation of the RFC after subcutaneous injections of Panax Ginseng alcohol extract 100mg/kg/day for 3 days.
The results of this experiment were summarized as follows.
1. Iron incorporation rate of the RFC in the normal mice directly treated with ginseng was increased significantly, as compared with that of control.
2. In the hyper transfused mice, iron incorporation rate of the RBC of the ginseng treated group was suppressed significantly, as compared with that of control.
3. In the nephrectomized rats, iron incorporation rate of the RFC of the ginseng treated group was higher than that of control.
